Berserk is an extremely violent, horrible and graphic manga which often is labelled as ‘too mature’ for the audience. The manga is not ideal for those who are easily scared or get upset. The manga is for the matured audience ready to read and appreciate the illustration and story regardless of the graphic nature of the manga.
Guts the Swordsman is unable to find a little tranquillity in his life. Guts and his companions help a local village to get rid of plague and deadly trolls. Schierke, the witch’s disciple helps in the process, whereas the warrior band manages to turn the tide against the trolls. But another kind of tide is needed when an ogre enters. Casca and Farnese are flown into the troll’s den by the flood, where the fate awaiting is much worse than death itself.
